Family Life

Created by Kerry-Jane Elizabeth one year ago

After Pam and Geoff married in 1966 they moved into their home in Esher.  It was here that they had their two daughters, Kerry and Leigh.  Geoff worked for a couple of heating companies as a sales rep and then went on to be a deputy manager in a heating sales shop, before retiring. Pam worked for several estate agents as a secretary, as well as having a second job as a dinner lady at the local secondary school.

They were delighted when Kerry and then Leigh met their partners and went onto marry them.  Luckily both are called David, so it made life a bit easier (or more difficult!) for them to remember the names.

Unfortunately, Pam went on to develop early onset dementia, and she was nursed during this time by Geoff and her daughters, until she passed away in early 2010.  Very soon after Kerry and David had their son James.

Unfortunately in 2021, during the pandemic, Geoff ended up with an infection and was hospitalised.  He then caught Covid in hospital.  After an extended hospital stay it was decided that he needed more support and he went to Norfolk House Nursing Home where he remained.

He loved to go out on trips with his family, whether it was to their homes, the park or even down to the coast.  He especially like a visit to a local restaurant where he could enjoy his favourite meal...fish and chips.  He loved having 'picnics' in his room and watching Star Trek episodes on the TV.   The occasional doughnut, cream cake and even the odd beer was smuggled in now and then too!
